Comment: An early Corben work (around 1968?). They printed only the first two pages and a letter from Mr. Corben to a French receiver. Letter was dated Feb. 26th, 1985. In a letter he mentions “Star Beat”, “You’re a Big Girl”, “Instinct”, and the Cidopey portfolio (!), among other originals. The outlook of the story is close to the other late ’70s stories like, “Dead Hill” or “Monsters Rule”. “Star Beat” was done before “Monsters Rule”.
Richard Corben (about the last page): Yes, it is an authentic Corben comic page. But I still don’t know where it was published. It was from a short strip, something like StarBeat as a title. It predates all of my other known published work. I sent it to a fanzine publisher in the late 60’s who dropped out of fandom. If it was published it must have been in some small Amateur Press Association. Sorry, I couldn’t be more specific.
