Plate #1: "Pilgor Works his Work"
1 plate. s-Bruce Jones. a/r-Richard Corben. B&W.

All his romantic young life the powerful Prince Pilgor had sought only adventure and freedom and the occasional embrace of a pretty lass. Never in his wildest fantasies had he imagined himself settled down to a meaningful relationship. Too many were the proud mountains to climb, too plentiful the lush valleys to plow. Then, one balmy summer evening, as he entered the tavern of a foreign hamlet, his eyes met with a sight that would forever alter his destiny.

Ammora was only a bar room dancer, a peasant girl, yet never had Pilgor seen her equal nor felt such a heated rush of excitement course through him. As she spun and dipped like a wind-tossed leaf atop the oaken tables, their eyes met and Pilgor rose up to his full height. But hardly had the young lovers discovered each other than the beautiful Ammora was yanked brutally from the table and forced to perform a grotesque dance with one of the hulking locals. As she screamed and her voice echoed across the walls, excitement within the tiny tavern rose to a fever pitch and others lined up for their turn at the dance. Rarely had Pilgor's wrath flamed higher. Like a scythe among chaff he plowed into the boisterous crowd, gripping vein-corded flesh in his vice-like hands and squeezing until heads throbbed red and purple.
