Richard Corben has been tried practically all possible drawing techniques. As a result of all experimental work and a successful overlay color technique he has found his permanent drawing technique: wether the result product will be digitally colored or colored by somebody else, his originals tends nowadays to be done as black line art plates.
To reach certain outlook for B&W shaded comics Richard Corben used a B&W overlay technique. The black line original was photocopied with rasterized shades as one, or like in the case of Tales of the Black Diamond stories, black line original, overlay and digital shades were connected with computer.
